P19 Initiative - Exploring the Canopy

Class Description: The P19 Initiative is inspired by Psalm 19, which reminds us that "The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands." In this hands-on photography class, students will learn to see God's fingerprints throughout creation while developing the skills to capture its beauty through a camera lens. As they explore the farm, forest, gardens, and wildlife, students will build foundational photography skills including composition, lighting, perspective, storytelling, and basic photo editing. More than simply taking pictures, they'll learn that great photography begins with slowing down, observing carefully, and recognizing the wonder of God's creation all around them. The course concludes with a student gallery where each photographer shares their favorite images and the story behind them, celebrating both their growth as photographers and the Creator whose handiwork they have captured.
