Private Field Trips

Field trips at Master's Touch offer a unique opportunity for groups to connect with nature, learn about horses and other farm animals, and explore how they play a role in healing and personal growth.

Our field trips are more than just a day on the farm—they’re hands-on,
nature-rich learning experiences designed to spark curiosity and align with
Georgia Standards of Excellence for Science. Whether you're looking to support your unit on life cycles, habitats, or ecosystems, our farm is ready to bring
those lessons to life.

We welcome public, private, and Christian schools, homeschool groups, co-ops, and even groups of friends looking for a fun and educational day on the farm.
Field trips are designed for kids of all ages and abilities. Each experience can be customized to meet the needs of your group.

All field trips include:

Garden Discovery

Explore plant life, pollinators, and seasonal cycles.

Students step into our vibrant teaching garden to see, touch, and smell a variety of herbs, fruits, and flowers. We'll discuss the role of pollinators, the needs of plants, and even get our hands dirty with seasonal planting activities.

Aligned GSE Science Standards:

  • SKL1, S1L1, S2L1: Needs of living organisms

  • S3L1, S4L1: Habitats and the roles of plants

  • S5L4: Plant classification and interactions

  • S6E6: Use of natural resources in food production

Animal Encounters

Meet and learn from our farm animals.

Our farm is home to a variety of animals—miniature goats, donkeys, guinea pigs, chickens, rabbits, and more. During this hands-on experience, students will meet, touch, and learn about our animals' unique traits, their roles in agriculture, and how they fit into our farm’s ecosystem.

We explore predator vs. prey relationships, animal defenses, and how humans care for domesticated animals. Students also discover how our animals support therapeutic programs at Master's Touch, fostering trust and connection for individuals with special needs or those who have experienced trauma.

Aligned GSE Science Standards:

  • S1L1, S3L1: Basic needs and habitats

  • S4L1: Food chains and animal roles

  • S5L4: Animal classification and behavior

  • S7L4: Human impact and animal care in ecosystems

Hiking Adventure

Discover woodland ecosystems and seasonal change.

Follow our wooded trail over a natural creek and through native Georgia habitat. Along the way, we’ll identify plants, look for signs of life under logs and leaves, and complete a nature scavenger for life science enrichment.

Aligned GSE Science Standards:

  • S2L1: Life cycles of animals in natural habitats

  • S3L1: Habitat needs and animal adaptations

  • S7L4: Interdependence within ecosystems

  • S8P1: Physical properties of natural materials

Behind the Mane Experience

Discover the world of horses and the power of connection.

Step into life on a working horse farm and discover what it takes to care for our herd. This experience may include a tractor-pulled pasture tour with feeding and herd observation or a natural horsemanship demonstration, showing how trust and communication are built between horses and humans. Students learn about horse behavior, herd dynamics, and how these animals play a role in both agriculture and emotional healing.

Aligned GSE Science & SEL Standards:

  • S1L1: Identify basic needs of animals and how they are met

  • S2L1: Understand animal life cycles

  • S3L1: Explore habitats and how animals adapt to them

  • S4L1: Describe roles of organisms and food chains

  • S5L4: Classify animals and explain their behavior and interaction

  • S7L4: Examine interdependence of organisms and environments

  • SEL Competencies: Build empathy, nonverbal communication, self-awareness, and relationship skills

As a working horse farm, our day-to-day activities shift with the seasons and the needs of our animals.

Field trips are designed to immerse students in real-life farm routines, so each visit offers a unique experience.
