Statement of Faith
We, the members of Master's Touch, affirm our commitment to the following core beliefs as
outlined by our guiding principles from both Classical Conversations and the Fellowship of
Christian Athletes:
1. The Holy Scriptures
We believe that the Holy Scriptures, consisting of the Old and New Testaments, are the
inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. They serve as the ultimate guide for
faith and practice and are sufficient for all aspects of life and godliness.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 - “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for
teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the
man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.”
Peter 1:21 - “For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men
spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.”

2. The Trinity
We affirm our belief in one God, eternally existing in three persons: God the Father, God
the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Each person of the Trinity is fully and equally God,
sharing the same divine essence and coequal in power and glory.
Matthew 28:19 - “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them
in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”
2 Corinthians 13:14 - “The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God
and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.”
3. God the Father: The Loving and Involved Creator
We believe that God the Father is the sovereign Creator of the universe, who is
intimately involved in His creation. His role as Creator is marked by both His
omnipotence and His profound love for His creation. This belief highlights several key
aspects of God's character and His relationship with the world:
-
God as the Creator
We affirm that God created the heavens and the earth and all that is within them.
His creative work is both intentional and purposeful, reflecting His divine wisdom
and power.
Genesis 1:1 - “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.”
Psalm 104:24 - “O Lord, how manifold are your works! In wisdom have
you made them all; the earth is full of your creatures.”

-
God’s Immanence and Sustaining Power
God is not a distant Creator but remains actively involved in the ongoing
sustenance and governance of His creation. His immanence means He is
present and engaged with His creation at all times.

Hebrews 1:3 - “He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact
imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his
power.”
Colossians 1:16-17 - “For by him all things were created, in heaven and
on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or
authorities— all things were created through him and for him. And he is
before all things, and in him all things hold together.”

-
God’s Loving and Personal Involvement
God’s love for His creation is evident in His personal and relational involvement
with humanity. He desires a close and meaningful relationship with His creatures,
demonstrating His love through His actions and promises.
Psalm 136:1 - “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast
love endures forever.”
Isaiah 46:4 - “Even to your old age I am he, and to gray hairs I will carry
you. I have made, and I will bear; I will carry and will save.”

-
God’s Purpose and Plan
God’s creation is purposeful, and His plan for creation is both redemptive and
expansive. He has a divine purpose for every part of His creation, including
human beings, whom He created in His own image to reflect His glory.
Jeremiah 29:11 - “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord,
plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
Genesis 1:26 - “Then God said, ‘Let us make man in our image, after our
likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over
the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and
over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.’”

-
God’s Provision and Care
As a loving Creator, God provides for and cares for His creation. He ensures that
the needs of His creatures are met and that His creation operates in harmony
according to His will.
Matthew 6:26 - “Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor
gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not
of more value than they?”
1 Peter 5:7 - “Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for
you.”

-
God’s Ultimate Restoration
God’s involvement as Creator also includes His commitment to restore and
renew His creation. Through Christ, God is bringing about the ultimate
redemption and restoration of all things, culminating in a new heaven and new
earth.

Revelation 21:1 - “Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first
heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more.”
Romans 8:21 - “That the creation itself will be set free from its bondage
to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God.”

4. Jesus Christ: God's One and Only Son
We believe that Jesus Christ is the one and only Son of God, uniquely begotten of the
Father. His divine sonship is central to our faith and theology, affirming His unique and
exclusive relationship with God the Father. This belief encompasses several critical
aspects of Christ's identity and mission:
-
The Unique Sonship of Christ
Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, begotten from the Father before all
worlds. He is distinct from all other beings and is the full and complete revelation
of God to humanity.
John 1:14 - “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we
have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace
and truth.”
John 3:16 - “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that
whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”

-
The Virgin Birth and Incarnation
Jesus’ unique sonship is affirmed by His miraculous conception by the Holy Spirit
and His virgin birth. This miraculous birth underscores His divine nature and His
role as God incarnate.
Matthew 1:20-23 - “But as he considered these things, behold, an angel
of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, ‘Joseph, son of David, do
not fear to take Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is
from the Holy Spirit. She will bear a son, and you shall call his name
Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.’ All this took place to
fulfill what the Lord had spoken by the prophet: ‘Behold, the virgin shall
conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel’ (which
means, God with us).”
-
Jesus’ Authority and Divinity
As the Son of God, Jesus possesses all authority in heaven and on earth. His
divinity is evident through His miracles, teachings, and His unique relationship
with the Father.
Matthew 28:18 - “And Jesus came and said to them, ‘All authority in
heaven and on earth has been given to me.’”
John 10:30 - “I and the Father are one.”
John 14:9 - “Jesus said to him, ‘Have I been with you so long, and you
still do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father.
How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?’”

-
The Atoning Sacrifice
Jesus’ role as the Son of God is profoundly demonstrated in His sacrificial death
on the cross. His atonement is the means by which humanity is reconciled to
God.
Romans 5:8 - “But God shows his love for us in that while we were still
sinners, Christ died for us.”
1 John 4:10 - “In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he
loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.”

-
The Resurrection and Ascension
Jesus' resurrection from the dead affirms His divine sonship and His victory over
sin and death. His ascension into heaven further confirms His unique status as
the Son of God and His ongoing role as our intercessor.
Acts 2:32 - “This Jesus God raised up, and of that we all are witnesses.”
